Consider how often that door moves. Once per bag change, through its full arc, with the weight of the cover hanging on two small plastic ears and the steel axles passing through them. Play arrives first, then a corner that sits low, then a door that catches on its way shut or hangs from one side alone. A door no longer closing square cannot press the cover seal down evenly, so the chamber begins leaking at whichever corner has dropped - which is how a pivot fault ends up being blamed on a filter. Renewing both sides in one go keeps the door running level across the opening instead of correcting one side and loading the other.
The repair itself is small. The door lifts off its axles, the worn ears go with them, and the new pair returns on the same pivot line.
