This replacement height adjustment lever spring fits the #65. The spring returns tension to the height adjustment lever so it holds its set position on the machine.
A weak or broken spring lets the height lever drift or fail to hold, so the cleaning height changes on its own and pickup suffers. A fresh spring restores firm detent action and keeps the setting where you put it. A height setting that holds also keeps the brushroll at the right depth for the carpet you are cleaning.
