Machines finished in black carry their own number for this moulding, and 5380SW is it: the internal cover for the SEBO AUTOMATIC X4 and the AUTOMATIC X7 Pet. SEBO's drawings place it at item 26 on the AUTOMATIC X4 sheet and at item 23 on the X7 sheet, in both cases with items 40 and 41 included.
Item 40 in that group is the seal between this panel and the bag housing, catalogued in its own right as 5842, and it is the part of the assembly that turns a closed joint into an airtight one. The panel itself forms a side wall of the machine's internal route. Break a tab or split the moulding and air finds a way past the filtration; the evidence arrives as dust in places that should stay clean, then as a floor head that has plainly lost its edge without any blockage to explain the change.
The part arrives assembled, so refitting is an exchange rather than a rebuild and there is nothing worth salvaging from the damaged one. Handle the new panel by its edges when seating it, since the tabs are almost always what gave way on the cover coming out, and they are just as easy to overstress going in.
