Product details

Part SV8016 is the white Plastiflex inlet valve built in the round door style, supplied with its mounting screws. It is the wall end of a central vacuum system, the fitting a hose cuff plugs into and the door that closes the pipe off again once the hose comes out.

A door that has gone brittle, discolored, or stopped latching leaks air continuously. Because every inlet shares one pipe network, that leak shows up as weak suction throughout the house rather than only in the room where the bad valve sits, so walking the house and checking each door for a firm close is the quick way to find it.

Central vacuum inlets have been built to more than one door shape and screw spacing over the years. Hold this valve's round door and hole pattern against the one on your wall before ordering, since a mismatch will not sit correctly in a box that was cut for something else. Measure the opening in the wall box itself as well, not only the plate that covers it.

If your existing inlet has low voltage wires landed on it, photograph the terminals before unscrewing it and land the new valve the same way. That wiring step is where this job usually goes wrong, not the mounting.
