Product details
Part 104507 is a pack of two detent springs, the small parts that give a ProForce handle its click as it moves between its set positions. Once a spring loses its snap, the handle no longer locks where it is put; it sags gradually toward the floor mid-task, or it will not stay upright when the operator tries to park the machine between rooms, forcing them to lean it against a wall instead.
Unlike a lot of wear items that show up occasionally, a bad detent spring announces itself constantly, on every single push and pull of the handle, yet it remains one of the least expensive fixes available anywhere on this machine. Operators usually describe the symptom as a mushy or loose feel right at the point the handle should click, rather than a sudden failure, since the spring's tension bleeds away slowly across months of everyday use rather than failing all at once.
Coverage spans seven machines in the ProForce family: the ProCare 15XP, the 1500XP New Style revision, ProForce 1500XP HEPA, ProForce 1500, the standard 1500XP, ProForce 1200XP HEPA, and the 1200XP. Unplug the unit and keep a firm hand on the handle before releasing the old spring assembly, which stores real tension and can pop apart unexpectedly if it is not held steady during the swap.
