Product details
Between the nozzle opening and the bag compartment on a ProTeam ProForce upright sits a molded connector that channels everything the machine picks up on its way to storage, and part 104236 is the replacement for that piece. It looks like a throwaway component, but a break in it sits squarely inside the airflow circuit, so the loss of performance far outweighs the size of the part itself.
A cracked connector often announces itself with a thin whistle right at the break, or with a visible smudge of fine dust collecting along the outside where the joint is supposed to stay sealed shut. Dropping the machine, or catching the lower body hard against a table leg or door frame, is the most common way this piece ends up split.
When a ProForce upright loses pickup even though the bag was just swapped, the filter is clean, and the hose has nothing lodged in it, look here before spending money on anything pricier. This part covers the ProForce 1200XP, 1500XP, ProForce 1500 HEPA, and ProCare 15XP.
Replacing it means opening the lower body of the machine and freeing the duct where it joins the airflow path at each end, working over a flat surface so the small fasteners do not roll away. Push the replacement fully home at both ends before closing the housing, since a connector only partially seated will split again at the same joint before long.
