Product details
Order by head type rather than by appearance. The ET-2 floor nozzle is wider than its ET-1 sibling and takes its own rear panel, catalogued as SKU 2305GS in gray black and shown at position 109 of the ET 1 / ET 2 power head diagram as the complete rear bottom plate. The corresponding panel for the narrower head is 2304GS, and the two are not interchangeable.
The panel spans the back of the sole, keeping the trailing lip in even contact with the floor while sealing the air path behind the roll. Damage along that edge is common on machines dragged over thresholds and door bars, and the giveaway is a nozzle that rocks under hand pressure or leaves a thin line of debris trailing behind it. A second symptom is a head that suddenly feels light on carpet, because air is entering behind the roll instead of being drawn through the pile in front of it. None of that improves with a fresh bag or a clean filter, which is why the fault so often gets chased in the wrong place first.
Diagnosis takes a minute with the head upside down on a bench. Sight along the rear lip for a bow, run a fingernail along it for thin spots, and press each end down to see whether the panel flexes away from the shell. If a felt or foam seal came off with the old plate, move it across unless the new one already carries its own. Clear the packed hair that collects along the back of the roll while the underside is open, because that debris holds the panel off its seat and starts the cycle again on a brand new plate.
