This genuine SEBO Reed Switch is the magnetic sensor that mounts inside the swivel neck support on X7 and X8 uprights. It detects the handle's position and signals the machine to adjust brush and motor operation as you tilt the handle back to vacuum or return it upright.
When the reed switch fails, the vacuum can behave erratically, ignore the handle position, or fail to enter its normal cleaning mode even though the neck itself is sound. Replacing just the switch restores correct handle-position sensing without swapping the whole support.
