Items must be unused, in new condition, and include their original packaging and all accessories. Machines that use water cannot be returned once unboxed, unless defective upon arrival.

Colour is the whole distinction here. SEBO builds two versions of this sensor and marks each with a coloured ring at the collar; the red-ringed one carries order code 5465 and serves the AUTOMATIC X5 together with the ESSENTIAL G2 and G5. The pulley and mounting screws travel with it.
Carrying a pulley means the unit is turned by the machine's belt run, so it sees the drive directly. That is why trouble here reads as strange behaviour rather than as a noise: response to the controls becomes inconsistent, running speed drifts instead of holding steady, or the machine stops halfway across a room and then restarts as though nothing had happened. Those complaints are routinely blamed on the motor, and the motor is routinely innocent.
Work through it in order. Check the belt for cracked teeth or slack first, since a belt that skips imitates a failing sensor closely. Then confirm the ring colour on the unit coming out, because red and yellow are not interchangeable and the yellow-ringed part carries its own number, 5464. Photograph each connector and the path every lead follows before anything is unplugged; rebuilding to the factory routing is most of the labour.
