MD Central Vacuum Air Relie...

Product details

Part 5613ARV is an air relief valve that protects a central vacuum motor from the damage a clog or a blockage can do to it.

With a hose or an inlet fully blocked, the motor ends up pulling against a dead-end line with almost no air moving across it, which is a harder condition on it than ordinary use. MD's description of this valve is that it springs open under exactly that condition and admits air to the motor, so the motor keeps airflow over it while the blockage is dealt with.

  • Part: air relief valve, part 5613ARV
  • Function: springs open under blockage to keep air moving to the motor
  • Also needed: a sweep tee connector to splice it into the line
  • Position: sited as near the power unit as the run allows

MD's installation guidance is that the valve is not a drop-in on its own. A sweep tee connector has to be spliced into the pipe as well, sited as near the power unit as the run allows. One valve is fitted at a single point in the line rather than at every inlet, so look for one already in place before ordering, and confirm your pipe diameter before cutting into a run.
