Returns & Exchanges

Items must be unused, in new condition, and include their original packaging and all accessories. Machines that use water cannot be returned once unboxed, unless defective upon arrival.

A brush roll that slows the moment it meets thick carpet is usually a tension problem rather than a motor problem. The belt adjuster, part 52011ER, is the mechanism that holds the drive belt at its working tension on the AUTOMATIC X7 Premium, AUTOMATIC X7 Pet and AUTOMATIC X8, and it is supplied here as one complete unit, listed at position 113 on the AUTOMATIC X7/X8 exploded diagram.

As the adjuster wears, tension drifts low. The belt begins to slip on its pulley under load, slip generates heat, and heat glazes the belt until it can no longer grip at all — so the machine passes through a phase of smelling hot and sounding fine before the brush stops turning altogether. Renewing adjuster and belt together is the usual approach, because a belt rarely comes through the episode that revealed the fault in reusable condition.
