Returns & Exchanges

Spring tension is what makes a brush roller lock stay locked, and 52033ER supplies both halves of that mechanism: the right-hand release ring in light gray together with its spring. SEBO draws the assembly at position 129 on the AUTOMATIC X7 X8 exploded view, and the same part serves the AUTOMATIC X7 Premium, the AUTOMATIC X7 Pet and the AUTOMATIC X8.

When the spring weakens or the ring wears at its detent, the roller either refuses to come free or, worse, does not stay put once it is back in. The first is an irritation on a machine designed for tool-free roller removal. The second is the expensive one, because a roller that can wander under load works at the ends of its housing and takes the bearing block with it. Buying the ring and its spring as a single item avoids the common mistake of changing the ring alone and finding the action still feels soft.

Work on the roller mechanism with the vacuum unplugged, and pull the banded hair off the roller ends before the new ring goes on, since that build-up is usually what killed the old one. The ring is handed, so the left-hand end of the head takes a different part and this one will not substitute for it.
