Supplied complete with its fixing screw, part 2058 is the retainer that pins the brush strip along the sole of a SEBO ET-C power head. Everything it holds sits in the working face of the nozzle, so the cover spends its life pressed against carpet and hard flooring.
Abrasion and vibration eventually chew the moulding or slacken the single screw. Once the retainer lifts, the strip can wander out of line and the roll stops meeting the pile evenly, which shows up as weak pickup along one edge of the nozzle while the rest of the head works normally. That uneven result is the clue worth acting on, because it is the pattern that separates a strip problem from a belt or suction problem, both of which weaken the whole width of the head at once.
Fitting the retainer and screw together pins the strip flat again. The screw is included for good reason: a fastener that has been running loose in a moulding under constant vibration rarely holds properly a second time, and a retainer that lifts again takes the strip with it. Check the brush roll while the sole is exposed, since a strip that has been sitting proud will have been wearing the bristles unevenly, and clear the roll ends of hair before the cover goes back down.
This is an ET-C part number specifically. SEBO uses a separate retainer number on its other cleaning heads, so match the head rather than the machine it is fitted to when you order.
