Horsehair is finer and softer than nylon, and on a lacquered tabletop, a gilded frame or the body of a camera that difference is the entire reason to own one. Part 1387GS is SEBO's horsehair dusting brush in gray black, supplied without a clip and specified for every model in the range apart from the AIRBELT D.
The natural fibre lifts dust off polished and painted surfaces without leaving the faint haze of fine scratches a stiffer synthetic can work into them over time. Anything with a finish worth protecting is its territory: veneer and french-polished furniture, mirror and picture glass, instrument cases, screen bezels, ceramics on an open shelf and the beading around a painted door. Bristles that have gone thin or crooked no longer hold the dust they release, which is when a replacement is due.
SEBO draws it at position 54 on the AIRBELT E diagram, 43 on the AIRBELT K, 35 on the 300/350 Mechanical and 56 on the AUTOMATIC X7/X8 diagrams. For rougher duty — vents, skirting, car carpet and anything gritty — the nylon 1329GS and the large-opening 1094GS stand up to it far better, so plenty of households keep one of each rather than wearing the horsehair out on work it was not meant for.
