Product details
Part 523S is a 6-inch section of steel central vacuum pipe, 2 inches in diameter, made for the point where a vacuum line passes through a fire barrier wall.
MD lists it for new construction and gives the wall between an attached garage and the house as the example. The section is short because it only has to sit within the thickness of the wall assembly, with ordinary PVC central vacuum pipe carrying the run on either side of it. MD's joining instruction is to connect it to that PVC pipe using rubber cement and couplings, so a steel penetration does not force a steel run.
- Part: steel firewall pipe section, part 523S
- Length: 6 inches
- Diameter: 2 inches
- Material: steel

Requirements for fire-barrier penetrations are set locally and vary between jurisdictions, so confirm what your wall needs with your inspector rather than treating this part as an answer on its own. MD lists it as compatible with AirMaster, Modern Day, SilentMaster, Flo-Master, Beam, Nutone, Electrolux, Vacuflo, Kenmore and Eureka systems among others.
