Returns & Exchanges

Loose motor wiring is what turns a small repair into an expensive one, and part 52054 is the moulded guide that keeps the harness on an AUTOMATIC X7 Premium, AUTOMATIC X7 Pet or AUTOMATIC X8 exactly where SEBO routed it. The exploded view for the AUTOMATIC X7 X8 shows it as the cable guide at position 121.

When the guide is cracked, or was simply left out after a previous repair, the loom sags toward the motor and fan housing. Insulation then rubs through against a moving edge or bakes against a hot one, and a chafed conductor eventually shorts, which is a far bigger bill than the guide ever was. Refitting it puts the wiring back on its intended path and holds it there for the life of the machine.

Work each branch of the loom back into place and check that nothing is trapped before the motor cover goes back down, then turn the machine over and confirm the cover sits flush. Unplug the vacuum before the housing comes apart. If you are already in this far because of an electrical fault, replacing the harness at the same time is sensible, since a loom that has been rubbing on a broken guide rarely has just one damaged spot. The guide is also one of the parts most often absent from a machine that has been opened before, so look for it specifically rather than assuming it is still in place.
