Trovac 18/2 Low-Voltage Wir...

Product details

A single TFFIL500US spool holds 500 ft of 18/2 two-conductor wire for central vacuum low-voltage inlet wiring. The cable runs beside the PVC tubing between each wall inlet and the power unit, carrying the low-voltage signal that switches the unit on when a hose is plugged in.

Because central vacuum low-voltage wiring is simple two-conductor cabling, a single 500 ft spool typically covers the full low-voltage run in a multi-inlet home, though an unusually large layout may need a second spool. Counting the inlets and pacing out the route to each one beats a rule of thumb here, since a long single-storey layout can burn through wire far faster than a compact two-storey plan with the same inlet count.

  • Part: TFFIL500US
  • Length: 500 ft on one spool
  • Conductors: 2, 18 gauge
  • Use: low-voltage start and stop signal wiring for central vacuum inlets

Run the wire in the same wall cavity or alongside the vacuum pipe, then land each end at the inlet plate and the power unit's low-voltage screw terminals. Order a second spool ahead of time for an unusually large inlet count, since splicing low-voltage wire mid-run is best avoided.
