Product details
This coupling extends or joins the exhaust line running off a central vacuum power unit's motor. Standard central vacuum pipe slides into either end, letting an installer route exhaust air to a wall vent, a garage, or any point outside the utility space where the power unit sits.
The two ends are deliberately different sizes: the wide side measures 2 inch inner diameter by 2-1/4 inch outer diameter, and the narrow side measures 1-7/8 inch inner diameter by 2-1/8 inch outer diameter. That step lets one side nest against the motor's own exhaust port while the other accepts standard pipe, and the coupling works no matter which end faces which direction, so there is no wrong way to fit it during install.
Central vacuum pipe runs a lighter wall section than SCH 40 conduit, yet SCH 40 pipe also seats correctly here, since its 1.5 inch ID carries a 2 inch OD that matches the coupling's wide side the same way central vacuum pipe does. SCH 40's wall runs roughly three times heavier, narrowing the exhaust path slightly at that joint, but this makes no meaningful difference to how the system exhausts, so either pipe type works on the exhaust run.
- Part: 507EX motor exhaust coupling
- Wide side: 2 inch ID, 2-1/4 inch OD
- Narrow side: 1-7/8 inch ID, 2-1/8 inch OD
- Orientation: works in either direction, no set front or back
A low-cost fitting for closing out the exhaust side of a central vacuum installation, whether that means stretching a short run or bridging between two different pipe types on the same job.
