Plastiflex Pigtail Repair K...

Product details
SH400-R01 rebuilds the pigtail on a Plastiflex central vacuum hose in black, sized for a 6-foot cord. The pigtail is that curled lead running from the hose into the wall inlet, and across the whole hose assembly it is the section that tends to give out first.
Every time the plug comes out of the inlet at an angle, or the coil gets dragged across a doorway threshold, the wires inside flex at the same couple of spots. Do that enough times and the conductors fatigue, so the unit starts and stops on its own, drops out whenever the hose gets bumped or repositioned, or simply quits answering the inlet while the rest of the hose still checks out fine.
Because the hose body itself is usually undamaged when this happens, rebuilding just the powered end makes more sense than swapping the whole hose. Pick the color and cuff style that matches what you already have, black in this case, so the repaired lead seats and looks the way the original did. Cut power at the unit first.
After the new pigtail goes on, plug and unplug the hose at the inlet several times before treating the repair as finished, watching for a clean start on every attempt rather than just the first one. A start that hesitates on a later try usually means the connection needs another look before the hose goes back into daily use.
