Two ribbon cables arrive in part 5205/1, one cut to the original length and one to the later revised length, so the correct cable is in the box whichever build of the machine is on the bench. The cable is the link running from the power supply across to the computer controller board. Measure the cable you remove and fit the matching one rather than stretching a short cable to reach. Unplug the vacuum before opening the housing, seat each end fully into its header until the latch closes, and avoid creasing the new ribbon anywhere along its run, because a sharp fold is exactly what finished the old one.
