MD Steel Coupling for Centr...

Product details
Part 507S splices two sections of metal central vacuum tubing into one continuous run. Any line longer than a single stick of pipe needs at least one, and a long line needs one wherever two sections meet, so they are worth counting off the drawing before the order goes in.
MD publishes this coupling to the same specification as the rest of the metal range: galvanized and zinc-plated carbon steel at 18 gauge, made and fabricated to ASTM standards, and supplied singly. It sits with the 45s, wyes, tees and sweep ells on a job written for steel pipe.
Because the two materials are not designed to fasten to one another, a steel run should stay steel the whole way rather than picking up PVC hardware partway along. MD's own tubing, part 522S, is published at 2-inch outside diameter in 8-foot lengths, which is the size to measure against before ordering several.
