Left-hand bearing blocks sit behind a cap, and part 20123ER is that cap for the SEBO 370 COMFORT. It closes over the block supporting the left end of the brush roll, keeping the bearing seated in its housing and shielded from whatever the roller picks up off the floor.
Hair and fine grit are what finish off brush roll bearings, and this cover is the first line of defence against both. Once it cracks or goes missing, debris reaches the bearing directly and the block itself can start working loose in its housing. Noise and a wobbling roller follow soon after, and by that stage the bearing has usually been damaged as well. A new cover restores both the shield and the location, which is why it is worth fitting before the noise starts rather than after.
