A reversible mounting flange lets it flex to whatever orientation the install site needs rather than locking you into one layout.
Behind the white cover, the same SuperValve mechanics apply: plugging in a hose trips the low-voltage contact that starts the central vacuum power unit, a built-in 110V receptacle powers a direct-connect electric hose without a pigtail cord, and pulling the hose lets the spring-loaded door snap shut to reseal the wall tube. That seal is what keeps suction strong at the other inlets in the house while this one sits idle, since an open or poorly sealed inlet bleeds air the power unit would otherwise be pulling through the hose.
Model 791790W mounts to a standard Hayden SuperValve rough-in plate and standard central vacuum tubing, a straightforward swap for a cracked or broken door valve, or an added outlet on a new run. The reversible flange is useful in remodels where the original inlet orientation no longer lines up with new cabinetry or trim; on this Next Generation SuperValve the flange is a separate piece from the valve body, so it can sit on either side of the stud to suit the framing.
Confirm the rough-in plate and pipe size already in the wall match before ordering, since older or non-Hayden hardware can use a different plate pattern, and disconnect the central vacuum power unit before removing the old inlet.
