Items must be unused, in new condition, and include their original packaging and all accessories. Machines that use water cannot be returned once unboxed, unless defective upon arrival.

A vacuum can sound entirely healthy and still pull badly at the floor. When that happens on an upright, the leak is very often at the joint where the bag housing meets the swivel neck, because every bit of air the machine draws has to cross that face on its way to the bag. Seal 5163 is the gasket that closes it.
The seal only does its job while it stays pliable. Heat from the motor plus ordinary age eventually take it to a permanent set, and once it has hardened it no longer follows the mating surfaces. From that point the motor happily draws air in at the neck instead of through the nozzle, so brush agitation stays fine while pickup falls away. Renewing the seal restores an airtight route from the floor head into the bag. It is also a part that rarely survives a strip-down intact, so it is worth having on the bench any time the neck is separated from the housing for other work.
